Mataya has a commercial kitchen and café with a team of dedicated chefs & baristas. We have a full catering menu you can view however, we can help design a food/drinks menu that suits your event or activation if it’s not just barista-made coffee you are looking for.

In corporate events, we work hard to find unique ways to promote a company’s brand, feature a product they are launching/advertising, and help them stand out in the crowd. 

We often operate in public spaces such as malls, shopping centres, office buildings and university grounds. Our team can also get in theme with supplied branded uniforms and a colour theme.

Private events are more tailored to guest experience, creating a beautiful intimate setting, serving cocktails, coffee, or food to complement an event you are hosting: weddings, hens parties, baby showers, birthdays, milestone anniversaries. Branding is not essential; rather, the overall aesthetics and, of course, dam delicious food & drinks that your guests will talk about for years to come.

Our quotes are provided as an itemised breakdown of the following;

• Cart hire

• Staff & Service time

• Travel (if applicable)

• Min of 30 coffees to be prepaid (if it’s a coffee service)

• Any custom branding we add to the cart, cups, staff etc

All enquiries are quoted through enquiry as no two events are the same.

As each event is different, so is our set-up process. We generally set up the day of your event and need a minimum of 1 hour to unload the cart and equipment and have our systems dialled in, ready to serve. More complicated locations may require a longer bump-in time, or we might request access the day prior.

We can’t move our carts up or down stairs. We can access buildings with lifts; however, this needs to be discussed at the time of quoting.

We arrive in a van with a tail lift. Safe parking must be provided for our staff – off main roads & on flat ground to unload the cart, not obstructing pedestrians or other moving vehicles. Parking close by is also required while we work your event or activation. We are entirely self-contained, including water & wastewater however do require power (please refer to our spec sheets detailing power requirements).

Or coffee roaster in our café & on our carts is Will&Co. We serve their 808 & 303 blends.

Dairy milk is by Brownes, and alternative milk (offered at all events) is Alternative Dairy. We offer Oat & Almond as standard however happy to discuss other milks if you have a strong preference .

Our baristas are competent workers and can multitask well in terms of taking orders & serving fast. Depending on the size of your events and the time you wish for us to be there, we will help suggest staffing numbers.

As a guide, a coffee, cocktail or catering event for approx. 30 - 40 guests with service over 2-3 hours, we can run with one staff person. For events more extensive than this, we will make suggestions when quoting.

Our carts all have different power requirements. We will discuss these details with you while working through your brief. At times we might request a site visit to double check our set up location & services. All our power leads and electrical equipment is tagged and tested. It’s the responsibility of the venue / host to provide adequate power, safely to our team & your guests. We don’t provide electrical track, if your venue has specialised OH&S requirements regarding setup, we need to work through these at quotation stage.
